What cannot be hurried

Some outcomes respond to pressure. The important ones respond to consistency. Hurry only creates the feeling of progress.

There are things you can force: a reply, a schedule, a result on a spreadsheet.

And then there are things you can’t hurry without damaging them:

  • trust
  • strength
  • understanding
  • a life arranged around what matters

When you try to compress these, you don’t get them faster—you get a cheaper imitation.

The antidote is simple and difficult: show up at the same hour, again and again, and let time do its honest work.
